Mixed media and mixed cultures…..The pattern on the Bronze disc is of mud cloth which is of African origin. The Copper prayer cylinder is from Tibet , the rustic glass seed beads are from Czechoslovakia and the porcelain face style hails from Bali. Look how wonderful they all work together! This pendant is going to Tucson with us but it is for sale and if interested just contact us through one of our Etsy sites:
These faces are going with us to the Pasadena Bead and Design Show in January and the Tucson To Bead True Blue Show in February. They are porcelain and are a lovely turquoise color. If interested in purchasing one you can contact us through our Etsy site to inquire what we have on hand. Our sites are http://www.etsy.com/shop/judiemountain and http://www.etsy.com/shop/mountainrobbins Blue
Our friend Robert Lopez will be here in April to teach a wonderful bracelet making workshop. The workshop is called “What’s the Catch?” The students will create their own unique hinged bracelet with hidden keyhole catch fabricated from heat treated titanium and Argentium. This almost looks like it should be in a museum. The colors and textures are wonderful and the pieces look ancient. The bowl is even nice…made by another artist!
Soft turquoise with hints of green and gold. another piece that looks wonderful with natural Turquoise.
I like the way this heart turned out but I have to tell you “red” is a struggle for me. I am trying to embrace it and create some wonderful “red” pieces!
Porcelain faces and partial faces…I really like the way these two glazes worked together. We are still experimenting and there is a huge learning curve for us but we love it all.
