Using semi-precious gems,
stone, metals, and lampwork glass beads, artist Judie Mountain creates
jewelry and decorative art that captures the rhythms and essence of
the ethnic cultures she has encountered through her travels.
Always an artisan, Judie's career included creating leather goods and stain glass.
She operated her own gallery for some years before returning to pursue her art
full time. |
Glass artist
Wayne Robbins was introduced to lampworking in the mid 1990's, and
became immediately intrigued by the fluid origin of glass sculpture.
Wayne found in glass a pursuit that tapped into his creativity and
his detailed craftsmanship. Since focusing his energy full-time to
glass making, Wayne has developed his personal style inspired but not
wholely confined to the realities of nature.
While well known for creating lampwork beads with flowers or fish,
Wayne now also delves into glass forms based on amphibians, reptiles,
and sea life. These sculptural forms are showcased in elaborate ornamental
wear. Judie, his long-time partner and collaborator, integrates these
creations into beautiful assemblages containing metal and semi-precious
stones. These one-of-kind adornments have garnered a devoted following
of collectors.
In addition to the personal adornments Wayne creates, he also sculpts
glass to objects designed purely for the eye's enjoyment. These sculptures
reflect Wayne's unique interpretation of nature and his own vivid
imagination.
